Professional Experience

My work experience at Fugro GB Limited, UK, has allowed me to contribute to various interesting and technically challenging projects. Below are a few projects that offered exposure to different offshore engineering activities:

Guidelines for the Site-Specific Geotechnical Analyses of Jack-ups:

  • Research and Development (R&D) project from Norwegian Ocean Industry Authority (HAVTIL)
  • Provided guidelines for the geotechnical analysis of jack-ups, covering advanced topics such as soil partial drainage, cyclic loading and soil anisotropy [Link to the document].

Offshore Qatar:

  • Developed ground models in collaboration with engineering geologists
  • Derived site-specific and location-specific geotechnical parameters
  • Pile analysis and design, and pile capacity reassessments considering revised geotechnical parameters and pile ageing effects
  • Assessment of pile installation effects on the existing offshore facilities (pipelines and piles)

Soil Collapsibility Assessment, Uganda:

  • Soil collapsibility assessments for an onshore project in Uganda
  • Reviewed the available laboratory data and proposed new in-situ and laboratory testing plan
  • Computed possible depth of collapsible soils and assessed foundation settlements

Jetted Conductor Reassessment, Gabon:

  • Foundation reassessment study of a jetted conductor at offshore Gabon
  • Jetting of soil plug effects on the capacity of conductor are assessed

Spudcan Penetration Analysis, Offshore Congo and Offshore Gabon:

  • Assessment of the leg penetration and punch through risk for a jack-up rig at the Boatou field, Offshore Congo

Platform Reassessments, North Sea:

  • Derivation of geotechnical parameters using both historical and recent site investigation (SI) data
  • Back analysis of driven piles to determine the pile driving stresses for fatigue analysis
  • Derivation of pile capacities and soil springs using ICP, NGI and Unified CPT methodsĀ

Offshore Wind Farms, Irish Sea:

  • Statistical analysis and derivation of geotechnical parameters
  • Pile driveability analysis (buckling assessments and pile stresses during installation)
  • Derivation of pile capacities and soil springs using ICP, NGI and Unified CPT methods

Decommissioning Activities:

  • Review of geotechnical parameters
  • Assessment of conductor capacities considering pile ageing effects for the decommissioning activities

Liquefaction Assessment, Offshore Romania:

  • Review of geotechnical parameters , Offshore Romania
  • Performed site-specific seismic response analysis and evaluated the possible liquefaction at the site

Offshore Wind Farm Substation, Germany:

  • Derivation of geotechnical parameters
  • Pile driveability analysis (buckling assessments and pile stresses during installation)
  • Derivation of pile capacities and soil springs using API and Unified CPT methods.
  • Scour assessments and the effects of scour on the foundation capacities
  • Design of mud-mat foundations
